Position: HVAC Technician
Location: Rockford, IL
Pay: $21-$34/hr depending on experience.
Summary: The HVAC Technician performs maintenance and repairs to all HVAC equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration repairs to HVAC and related equipment with minimal supervision
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, and other types of control systems
- Maintain boilers, heating systems, and associated equipment
- Install new equipment and relocate existing equipment as required
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to identify required work so repairs can be scheduled during other than high demand times and/or minimal interruption to production requirements
- Properly fill out Maintenance Work Requests to ensure accurate records of work performed on all equipment
- Keep work areas clean and safe from hazardous conditions
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3 to 7 years of experience in a similar field
- Must have experience with electrical 3 phase, 480 voltage
- Ability to understand and apply electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Ability to diagnose and repair air handler chiller units and air conditioning units
- Ability to use basic electrical test equipment
- Demonstrated proficiency with all types of refrigeration tests and service equipment
- Proficient with all types of hand tools
- Proficient with brazing and soldering
- Ability to communicate effectively and function as a team member
- Must be able to work safely at heights and properly use all required safety equipment
- Must attend company-sponsored training courses as required
- Must be willing to work overtime as required
Education:
- High school education (or GED)
- CFC certified
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at times.
